Oops!

I haven't forgotten about my blog, I just haven't really had a chance to update! I have been doing walks/runs/hikes almost everyday still. I have done two 5.5miles this week alone (holla!), I am planning on going for four tonight and getting ready to map it out.

I am still having shin splits despite getting new shoes and being fitted for them. I think I am going to go get some Nike Frees this weekend. I know they are comfy and barefoot running is supposed to be the best. I actually just donated my first Nike Frees to the shoes for Haiti at the sports store down the street. I am going to donate my trail shoes this weekend as well. I found out one of my problems was that my shoes were too small, hence the "my feet are falling asleep" sensation I was getting with the shoes I had. doh!

Oh! Guess who is signing up for a 10k in March? Yeah.. me. Lets see how this goes!! I know I can do it, its just running the whole time that's going to be my issue.

Storm watch 2010

I always remember hearing the newscasters talking and freaking out about storm watch 1990 something. Then it was always a big ol' let down and it rained for about 30 mins or so. Well storm watch 2010 is a tad different this time around. We are on day two of rain. Big deal, I know. But for this Cali mama it is. I hate any change in the weather. I have not been running this week, I have been using On Demand! I love that I have access to all these workouts and the best thing is, is they are free!

Oh and I am getting a tad discouraged with the whole getting rid of some pounds. I have not lost any. Well wait. I take that back. I lost a half of a pound, then back up, then a pound, then back up, then down two. I am sure its back up to what I started at again today. I did measure myself and locked that up for my use. I will be checking that weekly to see if there is any change. Any way to change up the routine? Once the weather gets back to normal (next weds!!) I will be running again.

Day 12.

Ouch. Ouch is all I can say right now. My shin hurts. Not both of them, just one, my left one. It feels as if my leg is going to snap in half. Oh the joys of shin splints, why do you have to come on now that I am getting in the groove of things? I am getting my running down, got my days all set for the week, and now this. I guess things could be worse, but owie.

I got my jogs and hikes in this weekend. I did a 3mile hike on saturday, and a 1.8 mile jog on sunday. Yesterday I went to the baseball field to run around it, I got about a mile done and I wanted to curse out of pain. Little Bear wasnt having it in the stroller, so we left. I came home and ended up doing 30day shred. Hey, I did something! Then at night I decided to test my leg out and went for a 1.8 mile walk around here. Needless to say, I have not gone on a walk/run today....yet. I am going to do some yoga, or shall I say attempt. I am not flexible at all. Then I might throw in the 30day Shred on top of that while the kiddos take naps.

Oh! I have decided I am not cutting my hair till I reach my goal. Yeah, that will give me some motivation! I dont have a number in mind, just a pair of jeans that have not seen daylight in two years.

fun day!

The weather outside is not frightful, infact it is down right beautiful out! I went for a walk/ job last night with my sister, and parter in crime over at Twisted Sisters. We passed by the golf course and saw a great sunset, it reminded me I need to find a sitter soon so we can go golf! The trip was roughly 1.8 miles, and I did not think it was actually that far! It seemed dinky to me for some reason.




Today I took my son to school was set to meet up with some friends at the park and then I had to drive back a half an hourto pick up my son. How on earth was I going to get a jog in?? I drove to the park and put my foot to the ground and found a way to get a jog in. Not a long one, but it was 1.3 miles. Did I mention how beautiful it is out? I got a shot of the ocean today! Little Bear got to play and I made it back in time (with 15 mins to spare!) to pick up Bugger. I guess when you dont think you have time, there is always a way to make time, even if it is for a short run. Today was day 7, no breaks! Go me.

bootcamp!

I dropped my son off at school today and took little bear on a walk/jog. We went for 2.5 miles today. Slowly but surely I will get faster and be able to go longer distances. On the walk I passed by some thin looking ladies doing a bootcamp on the road. Looked fun! But I weaved in and out of them and made my way to my half way point, turned back around and somehow I caught up to them and I thought they had been going pretty fast! I ran past them as fast as my little legs could go saying "sorry" to each lady as I made them jump out of my way. Seriously the trail is wide enough for two people side by side, not a bootcamp with about 15 ladies! They did ask me to join in, but I would have been out of place with my big ol' jogging stroller, and I said "thanks! But I just want to get out of your way!". I did just that and they never caught back up to me. I ended my walk at the fountain, Little Bear loves to watch the water so I stopped by, but she was passed out! I decided it was a good place to stretch and then I walked back up to my car. It felt good to get out and do this, I hope it becomes a habit!

P.S. I did walk yesterday too! I went for 1.5 miles...guess who forgot the camera? Yeah, me. I tried to take pics on my phone, but its just not the same.

2nd-4th

I went on a trail walk on the 1st, but didnt have my camera with me since I had not thought of doing the blog at that time. I have been on a walk everyday since and have taken pictures. Here are a few!

Hey there! I am a stay at home mom that needs to get in shape and can stand to lose a few pounds. I have decided to start blogging about my walks in hopes I will stick with it this new year. huh..wonder what my resoulotion was?? My ulitmate goal this year is to do a half marathon. I have two kiddos at home so I walk when I can. I have found out that if I drop my son off at pre-school, my 16 month will nap in the stroller! Woo! I want to say that I am not a writer in any way shape or form and I know I am all over the place with my thoughts, but thats me.
